Desmond Tutu was a South African Anglican bishop and theologian, recognized for his anti-apartheid and human rights activism. He served as Archbishop of Cape Town and was the first Black African to hold the position. He received the Nobel Peace Prize and chaired the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
